1. Is This Interesting?
Thoughts/feelings that just might not matter:

Monday Morning Maniacs! Party! Good morning. The Super Bowl has come and gone along with a very busy week for yours truly. Here are some what-I-got-done-last-week stats:

40: hours of office work in an office, working
4: rockin’ performances, including…
1: George Harrison Tribute (I sang Piggies)
3: with Matt the Electrician
3: towns in which we performed
[Austin, Georgetown, Dallas]
9: months of dating sweet Maggie, marked and celebrated
6: months of publishing this Gazette, marked and celebrated
1: haircut
3: episodes of Big Love watched and enjoyed
10: lords a’ leaping

And the mark of Monday itself, the number of miles I ran/walked last week:
21
which means I can update the Southpaw Jones 2007 Virtual Excursion Des Pieds!

Week 1: 30 miles to Taylor, Texas
Week 2: 27 miles to Rockdale, Texas
Week 3: 20.7 miles to Caldwell, Texas
Week 4: 22.3 miles to Bryan/College Station, Texas
Week 5: 21 miles to…

…well, the middle of nowhere, actually. I guess I’ll have to camp out here. But I’m well on my way to Huntsville, and I was able to stroll straight across Gibbons Creek Lake. It covers 2,500 acres, and it hosts such scaly friends as largemouth bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, flathead catfish, white and black crappie, and bluegill. Mmm, crappie.

4.Quotopia
Freshly-picked quotes from the ol’ reference collection:
Men are apt to mistake the strength of their feeling for the strength of their argument. The heated mind resents the chill touch and relentless scrutiny of logic.
William E. Gladstone

5.Plumb, Plumber, Plumbest
Signs o’ the times from Austin’s singing Jewish plumber, Herman Bennett:

Thank you, come again!
