The full moon nightswim at Barton Springs was excellent last night. Good friends, big crowd, live music, cool water, and some super-solid howling at the big ol’ moon.
Tonight, I’ll hit Flipnotics @ the Triangle with the returning Matt the Electrician. Friday night, we’ll visit the legendary Anderson Fair in Houston. The song title of the week seems to be “Phillip and Kathy” or some variation thereof. Do attend!
Ed Verosky sent me a cool performance photo from last week’s show at the Cactus Café. I think it captures my somethingness while subduing my nothingness. My guess is it’s the moment I was thinking, “Did I leave the stove on?” I dig it, so I’m sharing it right here:

Chicago Paper Got Platform from New York by Wire in 38 Minutes.
CHICAGO — The much-talked-of “beat” achieved by THE NEW YORK TIMES in obtaining and printing in advance on last Tuesday morning a draft of the tentative platform from the Committee on Resolutions of the Republican National Convention furnished the telegraph companies an opportunity to show what they can do in an emergency.
