Gotcha. Some o’ ya.
Yes, yesterday’s Personal Update was a gag, a prank, a wool-puller. Happy April Fools’ Day! I actually got a few people real good, and that makes me happy in a place somewhere between my sternum and spine.
I have no intentions of leaving Austin, and it was fun to jab at Houston a little bit. The truth is I could have lambasted any town that isn’t Austin. ATX has such a gravity and charm, that I actually experience a little physical pain every time I leave the city limits. That’s pretty funny for someone who used to crave travel like a road craves gravel. Like a judge bangs a gavel, people! I picked Houston because of my personal history and the fact that it’s like a big doughboy waiting to get poked in the belly by a wise guy bloggist.
Other lies? I have not passed nor taken the Series 7 exam. There is no way I’m having three children.
Truths? I really do love Country Legends 97.1 FM in Houston, even if it is a computerized station with only 40 or so songs on its playlist. I enjoy driving through H-town, contemplating the oil boom of the 70s, hearing adults from the past sing about adult things like adultery, lust, divorce, Amarillo, by, and morning.
As always, thanks for stopping by, and Happy April, the month of my birth!

Damn. I saw through about five other pranks that appeared in my Google Reader yesterday. Why was I so drawn in by yours?
