House Concerts

House concerts are informal performances, usually in people’s homes, where 20 or more people can sit comfortably and enjoy an intimate show. It’s a great way to bring Southpaw to your town if he isn’t planning on coming there or if you just want a personalized, interactive and smoke-free experience.

You Provide:

  • A smoke-free space that can fit at least 15-20 or more folks comfortably.
  • Your home, local community center, meeting space, lecture hall, garage, barn, or outside.
  • 20 or more music-loving guests ($5-$10
suggested donation per person, ideally adding up to $150+)

  • Electricity, help unloading, and other small tasks the day of the concert if possible.
  • Maybe drinks and/or food. Maybe not.
  • Maybe a place for Southpaw to stay for the night…couches are great!
  • Southpaw Provides:

  • A cozy, intimate 1- 2 hour performance, including requests.
  • His sound equipment.
  • CDs and other merchandise for sale.
  • For best results, send invitations in advance (friends, neighbors, church members, co-workers, classmates, etc.), solicit RSVPs, and even try offering tickets for sale in advance.

You can also choose to open up your house concert to the public, inviting Southpaw’s other local fans (he’ll forward the info on to his list) or even advertising it via local radio and newspapers. It’s all up to you.

It works best when the host (you) is enthusiastic. When you invite all your friends with enthusiasm, the enthusiasm spreads. It truly is a unique way to experience Southpaw’s music. Why go to the music, when the music can come to you?
